The story of ICT-Works’ forward-thinking solutions began as an audacious dream when Xoliswa Kakana founded the company in 1999. Fuelled by an unshakable passion for technology, Xoliswa took her vision and shaped it into a business that stands toe-to-toe with the largest players in the intelligent transport solutions world today.  In the year 2000 ICT Works got an opportunity to partner with SAITIS & the DTI to further enhance and strengthen black and women owned ICT SMME’s to elevate to world class levels.

2005 gave birth to yet another notable achievement to ICT Works, where it and Deloitte were jointly awarded a 5-year ICT strategy implementation project by Coega, with Deloitte as the project lead. Within two years ICT-Works seamlessly took on the role as the project lead and delivered successfully to the Coega Development Corporation.

This paved the way for bigger projects to come, as they came in numbers from a multi-million-rand contract to implement procurement as a part of the National Treasury’s integrated Financial Management System to the multi-million-rand Oracle SITA support project, then the City of Cape Town awarded the My Citi Bus contract.

The strides and good reputation that comes with the ICT-Works brand and work ethic led to opportunities in other parts of the African continent like the BRT system in Lagos Nigeria as well as the IFMIS Procurement pay system implementation for Ministry of Finance Kenya. With all these projects awarded and ICT Works delivering them exceptionally and with excellence, it saw a stream of awards being awarded in recognition of the stellar execution and implementation in all its projects.
